Yintai Foundation attends philanthropy seminar held by Chaoyang District, Beijing

A philanthropy seminar held by Chaoyang District, Beijing, on July 19th was attended by the leaders of the Chaoyang District People's Political Consultative Conference, the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the District, the District Civil Affairs Bureau, the District Healthcare Security Administration and other relevant departments, as well as the heads of more than 40 enterprises and social organizations including Yintai Foundation.

The general state and future development plans of the Beijing Chaoyang District Charity Association were presented at the conference, as were plans to further expand enterprise membership so as to consolidate the foundation for developing public interest and philanthropic undertakings. Beijing Chaoyang District Charity Association was founded in June 2005. It now has 43 street and township chapters, and has already received public fundraising status. With building a social security system as its goal, the Association will actively offer philanthropic help such as medical and education aid, and assistance to the elderly, the disabled and the poor. It will also provide emergency relief in the event of major natural disasters and public emergencies.

At the seminar, many organizational heads said that, going forward, they would actively leverage their own advantages, carry out in-depth cooperation, and jointly promote the development of philanthropic undertakings under the guidance of the Chaoyang District committee and government.

Yintai Foundation has, since its inception, promoted the development of strategic public interest and philanthropic undertakings based on the public interest concept of platform thinking and shared value. It was the first in China to sponsor and establish a master’s program in social enterprise management to develop talent in the public interest and philanthropic sector. In the field of environmental conservation, the Foundation funds public nature reserves, and is the sponsor of the “Blue Pioneers” program to develop ocean conservation talent. It also supports academic research and the grooming of young scholars in the study of modern and contemporary Chinese history. In terms of livelihood poverty alleviation, it has helped lift Zhenxiong County in Yunnan Province out of poverty. Going forward, Yintai Foundation will continue to leverage its advantages and resources to continue to contribute to non-profit undertakings.
